
Acapulco, like many other tourist destinations of Mexico, has several beaches whose names are historical facts, habits or natural circumstances.

The beaches of Caleta and Caletilla are one of the most famous and visited the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. Located on the first section that makes up the avenue Costera Miguel Aleman, in the tourist area known as Acapulco Tradicional. A separate beach access to a tiny island, which along with the island of La Roqueta, protects the high waves of the Pacific Ocean and thus ideal for visiting children and the elderly. Caleta and Caletilla have a large range of seafood restaurants with the typical taste of the region that provide an excellent overview of tourism, both domestic and foreign. They are one of the few beaches in the port of Acapulco which was composed a song called Caleta Playa Coqueta.
In early June 1813, at war for the Independence of Mexico, José María Morelos insurgent turned to take the orders of La Roqueta Island, which was held by realistic soldiers . From the beaches of Caleta, insurgent Hermenegildo Galeana monitored the transfer of 80 soldiers from his regiment insurgents to the beaches of the island to strengthen its plan of attack that would be headed by Pablo Galeana.
During the decade of the 1900s, the only form of transport from the population of Acapulco to the beaches of Caleta and Caletilla was through a very difficult path of traffic, very similar to the current line which crosses the avenue Costera Miguel Aleman . We also used the sea, sailing from the port and giving back to the peninsula of Las Playas until you reach the beach. Formerly, the two beaches were known only as Caleta, Cala diminutive (easy landing place).
A first path towards the area was initiated by General Federico Berlanga, chief of operations in the regions of the Costa Chica and Grande, who tried to put a stop to the Manzanillo beach located between the population and the beaches of Caleta, however , general Berlanga left the port, the work remained unfinished. Later, the General Alberto F. Berber ended the work, yet there was more land to the Manzanillo beaches of Caleta.
In 1928, it was announced an official visit of President Plutarco Elías Calles to Acapulco with the Chamber of Commerce of the city, military and civilian authorities and the general population agreed to raise a collection that would serve to prepare a welcoming ceremony. Subsequently, it was announced that President Calles and his visit was canceled when authorities decide to use the resources collected to continue the path from Manzanillo beach to Caleta and Caletilla.
In 1949, this road that runs from Playa Tlacopanocha to the beaches of Caleta became the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, a top section that was named Avenida Caleta.

Langosta Beach (erroneously called Angosta -the narrow-) is located in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. It consists of a small penetration of the sea to land is limited to the south by the Patal hill and north by the Pinzon hill also known as the Dragos, this high cliffs protect Langosta Beach from the Pacific Ocean waves. It is very close to La Quebrada and Symphony of the Sea, major tourist attractions in the harbor. Its name comes from the extraction of lobster that were made in the beach.Located on Avenida Adolfo López Mateos of the city, within the tourist area known as Acapulco Tradicional, about 2 km from the Plaza Álvarez socket of the city.
In the restaurants you can taste typical dishes and fresh seafood place. For its privileged view of the Pacific Ocean, is famous for its sunsets.
Playa Manzanillo is a long beach located in Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. It is located in Fraccionamiento Las Playas, near Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman of that city, as part of the tourist area of traditional Acapulco along the Paseo del Pescador. At present, it serves as a dock for boats unserviceable or obsolete. Manzanillo Beach History
The beach was baptized with that name in 1663. Its name comes from two alternative versions, one says that in times of the Viceroyalty, a boat from the port of Manzanillo, Colima come with several families to Acapulco to populate. When entering the Bay of Saint Lucia to address the old anchorage port, a boy who came on board launched a cry "We left in Manzanillo and arrived in Manzanillo!" Alluding to the beach and the area surrounding it is resembled that of the port colimense. Since then, the people called by that name. The other version holds that in the beach abounded a tree called Manzanillo, that has a poisonous fruit.
In 1909, a boat called "SIMLA" carrying coal from Australia to Acapulco, caught fire in the Bay of Saint Lucia. Two steam tugs moved the boat to the Manzanillo beach where stranded days after the fire continued to be consumed. It remained there many years after but an American tug remove it and took it to that country.
During the 20s decade, General Federico Berlanga, chief of operations in the regions of the Costa Chica and Grande, send to build a road directly from the city of Acapulco to Manzanillo beach, the road went up and around the Pinzona hill descending to the height of the beach. However, it was left unfinished when Berlanga left the city, and it was finished by the General Alberto F. Berber later. This is the first installment reported to communicate the beaches of Caleta and Caletilla with the city and in 1949 became the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman.
The Tlaco of Panocha beach, or just Tlacopanocha is a small beach located at the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. Is located in the center on the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman of the city, within the tourist area known as Acapulco Tradicional. Geographically it is located south-southwest of the bay of Saint LuciaThe beach measures approximately 100 m long. and is just 290 meters from the Plaza Álvarez in the main square next to the quay of the port, besides having a very good communication and access to those sites.
The beach has a little wave, similar to those of Caleta and Caletilla and is ideal for visiting children and the elderly. Tlacopanocha is characterized by a large fishing industry, therefore, that much of the beach there are considerable number of boats and outboard boats into the water. Name

Hornos Beach is one of the oldest and busiest beaches in the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. It is located north-northwest of the Bay of Saint Lucia and is part of the tourist area known as Acapulco Tradicional. The beach has a variety of names for sub-areas, which have been renamed by some historical event or a know place near to the beach. Some well-known areas like Tamarindos, Hornitos and Papagayo.Hornos beach has fine sand and moderate waves gently seasoned with a unique palms barrier. Similarly with a variety of seafood restaurants recognized and famous for his good time, besides having a golf course near the beach. It also has an old pier, which is currently used by a restaurant, next to it you can appreciate a variety of boats, at this particular site in the mornings is used as the main operational center for fishermen.

Condesa beach is one of the most popular and crowded beaches of the port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. Located to the north-northeast of the Bay of Saint Lucia in the tourist area known as Acapulco Gold. Includes a short stretch of the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, from the Marbella plaza (square of the huntress Diana) to the building of the Hotel Fiesta Americana, with 655 m long.Beachfront at sea, is located the Farallon del Obispo, a medium-sized rock, known for its mythical legends. On the other side, on land, there is a peculiar variety of seafood restaurants to suit all tastes. At night, the site becomes more crowded by people of all ages, especially young people go out and tour, to enjoy the many bars and discos along the beach and admire the spectacular and often break the 50 m tower height Bungee, located in one of the most famous restaurants of the place.
Sports
Condesa Beach, located on a Bay area of direct prenetration of Ocean tides, often presents high and dangerous waves, which only facilitates entry to those who know how to swim and know the place. However, in these conditions it is ideal to enjoy a wide variety of water sports such as windsurfing, snorkeling, parasailing, sailing and water skiing.
Gay Beach
In the far east extreme of the beach, there is a gay community which meets under the Beto Condesa restaurant, these young people enjoy the sun and the beach accompanied by their partners in the area known as Las Piedras, right at the end of the beach.
Icacos beach is one of the most famous beaches and the busy port of Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. Located in the northeast and east of the bay of Saint Lucia in the tourist area called Acapulco Gold. Includes much of the Avenida Costera Miguel Aleman, from the building of the Presidente Hotel to the Naval Base along three subdivisions: Sports Club, Costa Azul and Icacos in the city. It has 2km approximately, 60 meters long which makes it the longest beach in the Bay of Saint Lucia.Icacos water wave has changed because, with Condesa beach, are located at the western end in the zone of penetration and favors ocean waves moderating them softening its speed and altitude from west to east through the protection offered by The El Guitarrón hill, arm of the bay. The Banana

Development and Commerce
Commercial development of Icacos beach was in the decades of the 60's and 70's. This beach was the beginning for foreign investment and commercial development in the port and began with the construction of one of the first luxury hotels in Acapulco, Presidente Hotel, ended in 1954 which attracted the attention of more investors to develop more buildings. Currently, close to the beach there is a vast amount of buildings, and shops that remain in constant growth.
Pichilingue beach is a small private beach of Puerto Marques in Acapulco, Guerrero State, southern Mexico. Located in the exclusive and luxurious square Pichilingue Diamond splitting to the north-northeast of Puerto Marqués Bay and part of the tourist area called Acapulco Diamante. The beach has an area of approximately 366 m long.
The waters are gentle as they are protected by the mouth of the bay. Next to it, are exclusive villas, hotels and more at the top, luxury condominiums. To access the beach, reach the Escenica road in the 14 km down the street Baja Catita or down directly to Puerto Marques and take the road for the beach.
Pichilingue is characterized by the audience, sometimes of artists and celebrities, national and international class that can be observed from Yatchs who usually sail close to the beach.
The tourist area of Pie de la Cuesta is located 12 km northwest of the Mexican port of Acapulco on the coast of Guerrero. It is internationally renowned for its sunsets and the beach with strong waves, in addition to Coyuca Lagoon, which borders the Coyuca bar that connects the lagoon with the sea. It also has a military airbase.
The vegetation of the lagoon is extensive in mangrove forests, many kinds of reptiles and birds. Majahua beach is one of the most popular and crowded beaches of Puerto Marques in Acapulco, Guerrero, southern Mexico. It is located south of the bay of Puerto Marqués, in the tourist area called Acapulco Diamante. The beach has an area of approximately 150 m long, being the smallest of the sea bay. It is situated near the main beach of Puerto Marqués.
Majahua presents very smooth waves, similar to those of Caleta and Caletilla and Pichilingue, this attract groups of tourists who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of the place because the beach is ideal for the entry of young children and the elderly. It has a large bar of seafood restaurants that offer visitors various dishes to suit all tastes.
At the north end of the beach, there is a pier built on a raised rock mass that divides the beach to Puerto Marqués. From there is a wide view of Punta Diamante which forms the mouth of the bay.
Revolcadero beach is a large way of beach located 10 km southeast of the bay of Saint Lucia and 3.2 km from Puerto Marqués in the port of Acapulco. Is one of the most popular and famous beaches of the port. Includes an extensive stretch of the Boulevard of Nations, which leads to the International Airport Juan N. Alvarez and is part of the tourist area called Acapulco Diamante. The beach measures 4 km, 60 m long approximately, becoming one of the largest in the municipality of Acapulco.
Revolcadero sands has (at most) a dark gray tone, because at 4 km east of the beach lies the large Tres Palos laggon. Presents moderate to high waves, although it is open sea the free flow to the Pacific Ocean.
