Philharmonic orchestra of Acapulco

The Philharmonic Orchestra of Acapulco has as goal to rescue, exhibit, spread and foment the musical culture of the Guerrero state especially, and of Mexico in general, through concerts of symphonic music of all the times, of national or foreign composers statewide, Nationally and Internationally.

It borns as a cultural project thanks to the effort of the Government of the Guerrero State. Its concert of inauguration was performed on May 2, 1998, in its official residence the Juan Ruiz de Alarcón Theatre of Acapulco's International Center. The Philharmonic of Acapulco is a professional symphonic orchestra that relies on 82 teachers of complete time, that anually realizes an average of 90 Season, Didactic and Special Concerts among the city and other places.

The digest that the Philharmonic of Acapulco handles, understands all the musical times, as well as popular Mexican music, musical comedy, ballet, opera, beside having the possibility of realizing digital recordings of any type of music.

The Philharmonic of Acapulco has diverse forums in order to manage to cover the totality of the municipalities of the State. This Orchestra constituted by out-standing professional musicians, have performanced more than 720 concerts, among Season Concerts, Didactic Concerts, Special Concerts and more. It has been directed by many guest directors as Eugene Kohn, Luis Cobos and Federico Álvarez del Toro, also it has invited distinguished soloists as, Alfonso Moreno, Gonzalo Romeu, Horace Franco, Violeta Dávalos, Plácido Domingo, Anabel Ramirez, Olivia Gorra, Verónica Alexanderson, Oscar Sámano, Sonia Amelio, Teresa Correa, Juan Navarro, Fernando de la Mora, Lucía Salas, Jose Luis Duval, Angelina Rojas, Tania Libertad, Guadalupe Parrondo, among others.
